Ltl Ditty's Closing Details

Yes I'm afraid it is true. :) We were notified via an Email on Aug 25, 2005 by Steve the piano player that Ltl Ditty's has closed it's doors. This site will stay open and I will be posting many more pictures from our visits in the coming days. We are hoping  one day Ditty's may reopen possibly with a new owner but we'll have to see. I have included the Email we received, an excerpt and link from the Dave & Busters Website. Keep the faith, maybe one day the fun will return. As I find the players new gigs I'll post them too.

Peter and Terry,

I'm sad to report that Ltl Dittys is no more.  The new owners, Dave & Busters, wanted to close temporarily for remodeling and improvements to the property and asked the Mall of America to give them a break on the rent while they were closed.  The Mall said no, so D & B pulled the plug.  I think the rent at the MOA might be among the highest in the country. Something like $40 per square foot.  That translates to somewhere in the neighborhood of $130,000 per month for the combined venues.  Dave and Busters is a pretty well-run company with very deep pockets, so if they can't make it work I doubt anyone can.

I'm really going to miss the place and I'll miss seeing you there.  If and when I find another gig, I'll let you know.  I just got booked for six weekends in Sweetwater, Nova Scotia, Canada.  I know...pretty odd, but it's good pay and travel and rooms are included.

In the mean time I've been making the best of my time off and have been sailing a lot.  We just got back from a trip on Lake Superior that was gloriously fun.

Hope to see you again sometime.

Luv ya,

Steve
