| In the summer of 2006 we decided to put together a 358 Sprint Car for the 2007 season. We bought a Roller (chassis without an engine) off Ebay out of Ohio for a good price. Having been on a 358 pit crew 2 season we had some idea what we needed but figured a school would provide a better education. I signed up and attended Smiley's Outlaw Sprint Car driving School. It was 2 days and one-on-one. First day was a comprehensive going over parts of the car, setups and safety equipment. Day two was 120 laps on the track with instruction and setup changes after each set. We helped work in the dirt track all the way thru driving the laps. Was all setup just for me from 5:00pm to 12:20am for true racing conditions under the lights! |
