We set out after work Friday August 9th, 2002 for Kennywood Park. We spent the night on the PA Turnpike in the Rest Area just before Exit #8.
We got up early and headed for Kennywood. We arrived around 10:45am and parked in the parking lot, truck and trailer for no charge. We left Kennywood around 7pm reroute for the Lazy 'J' Campground just South of Sandusky in Bellevue, OH. We arrived about 9PM and registered to stay until Tuesday.
We spent the day at Cedar Point Amusement Park.

We left for dunes at Silver lake, Michigan midday Tuesday. We had an hour delay due to a wreck but arrived around 9PM at the Campground, setup and went into town to ride the go-carts and eat ice cream.
The weather was cloudy and misting in the AM, so we went North to Ludington, MI to checkout a ferry that crosses Lake Michigan to Wisconsin. The Ferry only ran twice a day so we headed North to Manistee, MI to visit The City of Milwaukee, a floating Museum. On the way back to Silver Lake we ate at a Farm Restaurant, did some shopping and played a round of mini-golf. When we got back to Silver Lake we went into town and sat by the water as the sun set and ate soft serve ice cream.
We got up early, loaded up at the campground and headed for the Dunes. After riding on the dunes all day we left around 6:30pm heading for Ohio. We spent the night in a hotel near Lake Whitmore, MI just North of Ann Arbor, MI.
Got up in time for check out. Headed down towards Bellevue, Ohio to Seneca Caverns. Took the guided tour. Left headed towards PA. Stayed on the Ohio Turnpike at the Easternmost Rest Area East Bound.
Got up and headed towards Abbottstown, PA to Lincoln Speedway for our usual Saturday night at the races. Arrived at 3:30pm.
Left early Sunday AM and headed for home.
